    IGNORANCE

    Tibetans believe that there are two types of ignorance: innate ignorance and cultural ignorance. Innate ignorance is present in every person, and this is ignorance of one’s true nature of the Higher Self. The second type of ignorance is cultural ignorance. For example, in India, Hindus believe that it is wrong to eat beef, and right to eat pork. Muslims believe that it is right to eat beef, but they forbid the consumption of pork.
