This page contains a list of the best astrology books on astrology. There are many books on astrology. Many are only informative and it is impossible to learn something smart from them.
If you don’t intend to go to an astrological school, but want to learn by yourself from books, then I recommend you start with books by Marion March and Joan McEvers. Start with the first book called: The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Volume 1 and then the second, third and fourth books in order. They run their own school of astrology and when you study these books you will have the knowledge as if you attended a school of astrology.
But that is not all. This is just the basic knowledge of astrology. This is followed by more advanced knowledge of astrology. Below in the sequence will be listed excellent books in the field.
The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Volume 1
This new publication of a highly popular classic lives up to its title in presenting very clear instructions for how to learn astrology. As the first volume of a six volume series, this book teaches “Basic Principles” in a proven critically acclaimed method. Part 1 explains the symbolism of signs, planets, houses and aspects. Part 2 provides detailed delineation of each of the planets by sign, house placement and aspect, with thorough examples and then quizzes that allow the reader to self-test. Throughout, March and McEvers encourage their readers to “think like an astrologer.”

This Third Edition of Volume 2 of the highly popular and best-selling The Only Way to Learn Astrology series updates the calculation material with examples using newer reference works and the whole number system. With this book you can develop the skills required for Certification as a Professional Astrologer. But it’s much more than math alone! Part II instructs and offers interpretations for a wealth of material not often included in other basic astrology texts. You’ll learn about emphasis and lacks by element and mode, chart patterns, aspect configurations, retrogrades, interceptions and more! Part III details in-depth psychological analysis plus pre-natal eclipses, Arabian parts, Vertex and Fixed Stars. Fifty-five charts of well-known people are used to illustrate the various techniques.
The Only Way to Learn Astrology, Vol. 3
Volume 3: Horoscope Analysis Volume 3 presents refinements of astrological interpretation, as well as the process of “putting it all together” into a meaningful, informative analysis. The Only Way to Learn About Horary and Electional Astrology
The Only Way to Learn About Horary and Electional Astrology is a new publication of Volume 6 of the highly popular and best-selling “Only Way to Learn About Astrology” 6-volume series. Horary astrology is the art of interpreting a chart set up for the moment you ask a question and then interpreting the horoscope to reveal the answer. Joan McEvers has developed a simple, easy-to-follow procedure that WORKS! You’ll find many charts from her client files that demonstrate her skills at this technique and tell you the results. Electional astrology uses astrological principles to choose the best time to “give birth” (whether to a baby, business or marriage), buy or sell a home or car, etc. Marion D. March’s expertise is amply demonstrated with many charts from her clients files, along with her reasoning behind choosing each of them, and the results. The stories behind these charts and case studies are fun to read, and very instructive on the techniques of interpretation!
ASTROLOGY BOOKS FOR MORE ADVANCED STUDY
Astrology for Today by Joanna Watters
Many people dismiss astrology as irrelevant to today’s issues or associate it with watered down “star” readings. This book updates both views, showing how astrology has its place in the modern world. Joanna guides readers through all the elements of the horoscope, using clear text and colorful charts and diagrams. Rather than simply looking at historical meanings, she focuses on how different elements can symbolically work to influence and reflect personal situations and relationships. Using working examples and case studies, she shows how planets, signs, houses, and aspects work together to paint a personal astrological picture.
